1. Boil the peeled kumara in a pan with some water until the kumara is cooked.
2. Combine the rice and milk in a pot and bring it to a boil. Then a simmer.
3. Simmer for between 35-50 mins until all the liquid is absorbed into the rice. Keep stirring. Don’t let the rice stick.
4. Add the honey, vanilla, kumara, cinnamon and cardamom. Mix well. Add some milk, if it is too thick.
5. Take it off the heat and cool for a minute. Then serve
