• Ingredients:

    Ingredients: (4 PEOPLE)

    2 cups Red Lentils

    2 green chilli

    2 tsp tumeric


    The Dry Fry:

    2 tsp mustard seeds

    2 onion (chopped)

    1 cup curry leaves

    2 cups cooked spinach

    1 cup coriander (garnish)

    4 tsp of oil

    2 tsp butter

    Cooked Rice for 4 people

  • Directions:

    - Wash the Dhal 2-3 times in cold water until the water runs clear

    - In a pot, use two cups of water for every one cup of Dhal.

    - Add 1/2 the butter, the green chilli’s and turmeric to the water.

    - Bring the Dhal to a boil and then simmer. Check with your fingers to see see if its cooked.

    - Add the spinach and let it wilt. Season with salt to your taste.

    - Simmer for a minute and then take off the heat and set aside.

    - On a high flame, heat 1 tsp of oil and 1 tsp of butter.

    - Add the mustard seeds, curry leaves and onions and fry till the onions turn golden brown.

    - Mix the spice mix into the pot of Dhal Combine well.

    - Garnish with coriander and serve with rice
